Operation Doukou – STS regulations in Benin

Today, 17th of August 2023, an official meeting took place on ‘Operation Doukou’. Here, agencies and authorities were invited to learn about STS regulations in Benin.  We are happy to report that the project has now passed from the preparation phase to the operational phase.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • A zone has been designated exclusively for STS operations.
  • The armed personnel will be deployed on both vessels when they are ready for the STS operations

 

The following document, produced in English and French, gives thorough information and instructions related to these operations, including an indication of customs costs:

  1. The planning and conduct of petroleum products transhipment (ship-to-ship) and secure anchorage operations in waters under the jurisdiction of Benin.
  2. La planification et la conduite des opérations de transbordement de produits pétroliers (ship-to-ship) et mouillage sécurisé dans less eaux sous jurisdiction béninoise.

 

We shall revert with guidelines on additional costs related to armed guards and agency fees, to name a few.
