We’ve been thinking about doing this for some time…

Sitting in the middle of our local agents and the maritime community here in Switzerland, we often hear breaking news and spot trends early.

That got us thinking about how we could keep you in the know in a minute or two (we know your time is precious). And so, the very first edition of MasOceans Port Pulse was born! 🎉 We’re excited to kick off this series and bring you the latest shipping updates.

🦋 CHINA: High-Risk FSMC Season Alert

It’s pesky moth season again! This year, the FSMC (ex AGM) high-risk infestation period started on June 1st. According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the United States Department of Agriculture this year, North China (north of latitude 31̊15’N) is now defined as an FSMC high-risk infestation area between June 1 and September 30.

📜 ARGENTINA: New Presidential Laws

The Senate has approved several tough reforms proposed by President Milei, resulting in strikes and demonstrations. Our local agent, Martin Shipping & Co, is reviewing these changes to determine their potential impact on shipping, including possible strikes. Stay tuned for updates.

🚢 SPAIN: Major Investment in Castellón Port

Exciting news from Spain! The port of Castellón is set to receive over 760 million euros in investment from 2024 to 2028. Keep an eye on this development for potential opportunities.

⚪ With the warmer temperatures, the calendars are heating up! This week we attended the LCSC shipping drinks in Lausanne and STN’s (Shipping and Trading Network) Commodity Thursdays ‘a Day in the Life of a Trader’ at Halles de l’Île.
⚪ Next week, on 25th June, join us on the Neptune for a wonderful sunset cruise held by the Propeller Club – Geneva to commemorate the Day of the Seafarer.
