Good news for Dry Bulk Vesselsโ€ฆ

To promote the transit of Dry Bulk Vessels through the Suez Canal, the authorities have made the following decisions in Circular 9/2023:

๐Ÿšข Dry Bulk Vessels (both laden and ballast) operating between Egyptian Ports on the Red Sea and ports in South-West Africa will be eligible for substantial rebates on Suez Canal tolls.

  • Ports in Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria will receive a rebate of 20% on the Suez Canalโ€™s normal tolls.
  • Ports in Cameroon and its Southern ports will enjoy a rebate of 45% on the Suez Canalโ€™s normal tolls.

This applies to vessels sailing from the โ€˜Origin Portโ€™ starting from the 1st of November 2023 until the 30th of June 2024. Please note that the last permissible sailing date from the โ€˜Origin Portโ€™ is the 30th of June 2024.

For complete details and conditions, please see Circular 9/2023.
