San Antonio Este | Ready for Vessels up to 200m LOA

15, September – San Antonio Este is moving into a different operational rhythm.

New project cargo, larger vessels and sustained activity are becoming part of the port’s day-to-day reality. And the port is adapting with them.

More capacity for larger vessels

New dimensional limits now allow vessels of up to 200 metres LOA and 50,000 tonnes displacement to call at San Antonio Este.

VIGOR OL was the first vessel to operate under the new limits. At 183 metres LOA and 31 metres beam, the vessel arrived from India carrying 3,487 pipe joints for the San Matías Pipeline.

Further shipments are scheduled over the coming months, bringing continued vessel traffic, cargo operations and stevedoring activity to the port.

Beyond the berth

The operation does not end alongside.

Once discharged, the pipes are transferred to a dedicated laydown area within the port, where they remain before onward distribution to the pipeline worksites.

It is another practical sign of how San Antonio Este is adapting to the new operational demands.

A new day-to-day reality

This is more than a single vessel call.

Greater vessel capacity, new cargo movements and supporting infrastructure are already changing operations at San Antonio Este.
