Ceuta Port Update | Operations Remain Unaffected

4 August, 2026 – Commercial operations at the Port of Ceuta remain unaffected despite the recent migration emergency on the Spanish-Moroccan border.

Between 29 July and 1 August, an estimated 60,000 people entered the Spanish enclave from Morocco, overwhelming local reception capacity and prompting Spanish authorities to request a national emergency declaration. According to the latest reports, at least 88 fatalities have been recorded during the crossings.

Current Situation

The situation is now stabilizing. Around 90% of those who crossed have already returned to Morocco, while Spanish and Moroccan authorities continue coordinating efforts to manage the remaining population.

Port Operations

Throughout this period, the Port of Ceuta has remained fully secure, and commercial port operations have continued without disruption. No restrictions affecting vessel movements or normal port activity have been reported.
