16 February, 2026 – From 15 to 23 February, China enters the Spring Festival holiday period. Major ports remain operational, but the wider administrative framework does not.
Government offices, banks and key authorities close during these days. The effect is rarely visible alongside the vessel, yet it can influence documentation flows, approvals and coordination behind the scenes.
During this window, the following services may experience delays or temporary disruption:
- CTM withdrawals
- Exit visas for off-signers
- Customs clearance for spares, including airfreight and seafreight pick-up
- International courier services such as DHL and FedEx
- Supplier warehouses and service workshops
- Domestic courier and logistics transfers within China
In practice, courier networks scale down and transport capacity tightens due to seasonal demand. Even when services remain available, longer turnaround times and additional costs should be anticipated.
This is when planning discipline matters. Clear timelines, early alignment and close local follow-up help prevent administrative slowdowns from turning into operational pressure.
YOUR VESSELS, OUR PORTS
Together with Oceanfavor , we remain operational 24/7 throughout the holiday period, coordinating locally and aligning early to keep port calls steady across China and Singapore.
