19 August 2026 – Gatun Lake remains in a significantly stronger position than during the 2023–2024 drought period.
As of 17 August, the lake stands at approximately 84.35 ft, 3.90 ft above the 80.45 ft historical crisis-period average recorded between July 2023 and April 2024.
Actual levels closed July in line with projections, entering August consistent with the forecast. The latest ACP projection points to a gradual seasonal decline over the coming months.
For August–October 2026, the projection shows a gradual decrease from approximately 83.85 ft to 82.94 ft, consistent with typical seasonal patterns. Overall water availability remains favorable compared with the conditions experienced during the 2023–2024 drought period.
For August and September, the average ACP projection stands at 83.38 ft, 2.93 ft above the crisis-period average.
