Typhoon Fung-Wung has weakened after landfall yet continues to affect the Taiwan Strait and the Chinese mainland coast. Below is the latest forecast and operational status update from our teams across the region.
- Landed and weakened: Typhoon Fung-Wung made landfall on Luzon Island on November 9 as a Level 15 storm and weakened overnight.
- Position (0500 LT, Nov 10): Approximately 275 km northwest of Manila (16.6°N, 119.5°E) with a central wind force of Level 13 (38 m/s).
- Trajectory: Expected to move northwest at 10–15 kph and re-intensify to a Severe Typhoon (Level 14) over the South China Sea.
- Taiwan landfall: Forecast to turn northeast on the night of November 11 and make landfall on Taiwan’s southwest coast on the afternoon or evening of November 12.
- Gales: Winds of Level 6–8, with gusts up to Level 9–10, are expected along the coasts of Fujian, Guangdong and Taiwan.
- Rain: Heavy to torrential rains are forecast across Taiwan Island, reaching 250–300 mm in some areas.

Policy Note – China Suspends “Special Port Tariff (Effective Today) for One Year.
The Chinese Ministry of Transport has officially announced the immediate suspension of the Special Port Due related to U.S.-linked vessels.
- Effective date:The suspension begins today, November 10, 2025 (the same day the U.S. suspension takes effect).
- Duration:One year.
This measure aligns with the U.S. suspension of Section 301 fees. Oceanfavor has provided a free translation of the official notice for client reference.
