The Sinopharm vaccine has been approved for teens and children in China

  • Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for emergency use for young people ages 3 to 17.
  • The Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council approved the decision. This Council was set up to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • It is the second domestic COVID-19 vaccine made available for children and teenagers in China. In June, Sinovac Biotech’s vaccine was authorised for emergency use for young people.
