Here’s a quick preview of some of the newest information on shipping in China during COVID:
Port operation slowed down in Yangtze river ports
- Recent surge of COVID-19 cases associated with the impact of tropical storms since the end of July in the Jiangsu province of East China.
- As a result, port operations are badly delayed in the Yangtze river.
- Some ports are temporarily closed or have imposed 14 days quarantine on vessels arriving from overseas before they are allowed to berth.
- This means there are over a hundred vessels waiting at CJK roads for entry, causing heavy congestion.
