Max Draft: 12.04 meters (39.5 feet = 39 feet 6 inches) in deepest point of immersion in Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) permitted for particular vessel in Gatun Lake. Water Density of Gatun Lake is 0.9954 at 29.4ºC (85ºF).
DRAFT RESTRICTION: NEOPANAMAX
Max Draft: 15.2m/50 feet per design; however, due to water conservation measures restrictions has been announced as follows:
- 14.02m (46.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) since September 12th 2019
- 13.72m (45.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) since May 1st 2020
- 13.87m (45.5 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) since May 28th 2020
- 14.33m (47.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) since July 08th 2020
- Max Airdraft: 57.91m/190 feet (limited by “Puente de las Americas” for existing and new locks as well) (*)

- NeoPanamax with yellow highlighted are vessels that are pre-booked for a later day but that might be scheduled for transit earlier. Red highlighted are the vessels that according our tracking are not coming or will come later than announced. The assumption of the number of vessel scheduled per day in each direction is based on pattern appreciated in the last weeks but it isn’t an exact value.
