💧How is monumental flooding in southern China affecting shipping?

In the next 10 days (April 22nd – May 1st), heavy rainfall 🌧️ of 50-120 mm is expected in Jiangnan, South China, southern Sichuan Basin, and northern Guizhou.

Some areas in the eastern and southern parts of Jiangxi, Fujian, eastern Guangxi, and Guangdong could see 150-250 mm of rainfall, with some areas getting over 400 mm. The Guangdong province, hit hardest, has already witnessed mass evacuations.

The wet weather has brought with it fog, affecting shipping across several ports:

⚓ Dalian: Port channel closed from 0630lt/23rd/Apr till now due to poor visibility.
⚓ Qingdao: Port channel closed from 0143lt/23rd/Apr till now due to poor visibility.
⚓ Dongjiakou: Port channel closed from 0310lt/23rd/Apr till now due to poor visibility.
⚓ Rizhao/Lanshan: Port channel closed from 0330lt/23rd/Apr till now due to poor visibility.
